Renewal Policy

With Quux Software's licensing system, your license will activate all updates released for one year from your purchase date. At the end of one year, the version you have installed at that time will continue to work indefinitely. However, you will not be able to install and use updates released after your license expires, unless you purchase a renewal.

The renewal price is based on your Anniversary Date.

Sincpac C3D pricing has not changed since 2008. For over eighteen years, our customers have paid the same rates while the cost of everything else has roughly doubled. Effective July 1, 2026, we are adjusting our renewal discount schedule for the first time since the product launched. Base license prices remain unchanged.

For perspective: a single license purchased at $350 in 2008 would cost roughly $530 today at simple inflation. Annual renewal remains a fraction of what comparable Civil 3D add-ons charge for far narrower functionality.

The deadline for purchasing an annual renewal at the 60% discount is your Anniversary Date; however, purchasing a renewal does not reset your Anniversary Date.

In other words, say you purchase a license to the Sincpac C3D on August 1, 2009. August 1 is now your "Anniversary Date". Your key will activate all releases for a period of one year, until August 1, 2010. In order to use any updates released after August 1, 2010, you would need to purchase a renewal. However, you do not need to purchase that renewal before August 1, 2010. You can wait, and later pay the applicable renewal rate based on your Anniversary Date. The latest version released before August 1, 2010 will continue to work; you just will not be able to use any newer versions until you purchase a renewal.

Let's say you wait until April of 2011 to purchase the renewal. If you renew within one year after your Anniversary Date, you will receive this renewal for 40% off the full price ($210 on a $350 license, as example). However, the new key will only work until your Anniversary Date, on August 1, 2011. If you wait longer than one year past your Anniversary Date, you will renew at the 20% discount ($280 on a $350 license), and your Anniversary Date will reset, giving you a full year from that date before you need to purchase another renewal.

The net goal of this policy is to encourage our customers to renew on an annual basis, similar to Autodesk's subscription policy, except we allow our customers to drop their "subscription" at any time, and get back "up to date" at any time without losing their customer standing.

We strive to send invoices annually before your Anniversary Date arrives, so you will always be able to download the latest releases without interruption. However, a customer is ultimately responsible for renewing by their Anniversary Date to benefit from our annual renewal rate.
